My name is Orla and I am a yoga teacher, sea enthusiast, advocate of rest and lover of laughter.

Over the years, my professional work has been deeply rooted in education. I give people the tools to learn and assimilate new information and suppport them along the way. I am an educator. This is what I love to do. Through my work, I have helped hundreds of people to lean into rest, sleep better and simply learn to slow everything down.

The way that I teach yoga is informed by many different facets including Hatha Flow, Yin, Menstrual Cycle Awareness and effective self - care and meditation techniques and anecdotal knowledge gained from practicing yoga in Ireland, Australia, Sri Lanka and Costa Rica. By gaining an initial First Class Honours Bachelor of Education in Physical Education and Irish in 2013, a fresh scientific and embodied cultural awareness is apparent in my approach to teaching, too. Through continued study, professional development and a continued eagerness to learn, the delivery of my approach to education remains relevant and fresh.

Body awareness and accessible rest are my core teaching principals. You are given the tools to tune into sensation in your own body and to connect to yourself on a physical, emotional and energetic level. In doing so, you can attune to the energy and form of your own body and create your own container for deep and meaningful rest.

This course is something I have designed for someone like you who is no longer willing to be a slave to the chaos of modern society. For someone who is ready to adapt their current lifestyle in way that is sustainable for them. For someone who wants to make sustainable rest a lifelong routine.

Hibernation Homework

With a background in education, it is my belief that what we learn must be reinforced in the home. Consistency and repetition are key cornerstones to scaffolding knowledge and building long lasting, nourishing habits. Complete your weekly tasks when you have time, on your own, to comfortably reinforce your learning.

Weekly resources and guidance will be provided to support you along the way.

  • The course starts on Tuesday, the 27th of February at 7pm and will run for 6 weeks.

    Key Dates: February 27th, March 5th, March 12th, March 19th, March 26th and April 2nd 2024.

  • The aim of this course is to help you to successfully integrate rest and relaxation into your lifestyle in a manageable, sustainable way. We will look at different modules and topics each week weekly resources and practices will be given to support the material. You will learn to integrate down time into your own life in a way that woks for you.

  • If you are a woman who feels stressed, exhausted, burnt out or simply fed up.. this is for you. If you are ready to make achievable change in your life to support your wellbeing, then this is the course for you. If you are a busy, busy woman who needs a break… then this is for YOU!

  • As women, educating ourselves about our bodies is empowerment. Menstrual cycle awareness is perhaps one of the most radical self-care tools we can connect with as those who walk this earth as women. By learning, noticing and tuning into the inner workings of our bodies, we can really learn to live in greater harmony with the ebbs and flows of energies that naturally occur throughout our cycle. I will give you the tools and starting points with where to begin with Menstrual Cycle Awareness and tuning into your inner workings. By paying attention to your cycle and becoming aware of your energy levels and feeling, you can learn to accurately note how to adequately care for your needs on a given day or at a particular stage of your cycle.

  • Aim to allocate 2 - 3 hours a week depending on your schedule. I will give you the tools to incorporate tactics that work for you and your lifestyle. Ultimately, if you are reading this you must be considering investing time in yourself. Real commitment and consistency is required to implement new habits and change.

  • If you a ready to make the commitment to yourself and your wellbeing, I do ask that you carve out time for the call each week. This could be a type of boundary setting task for yourself. We want to embrace consistency and commitment to embed lifelong habits. if you are unable to attend, a recorded version of the session and resources will be sent to you.
